New to Body Care? Start With These Four Simple Steps
BODY NOTES | ROUTINE
By Christian Hawkins, Licensed Esthetician
You do not need a crowded shelf or a complicated plan. You need a few thoughtful steps you can return to consistently.
There is a particular kind of optimism involved in buying a new skin care product. This will be the one, we tell ourselves. The jar will sit beautifully on the counter, the routine will happen every night, and we will suddenly become the sort of woman who never forgets to moisturize her elbows.
Then life happens.
The secret to a body care routine is not doing everything. It is knowing what comes next.
The skin below your chin deserves a routine, too. Not an elaborate ritual that makes your morning longer, but a simple sequence that fits into the life you already have.
That is why Regeily numbers the routine.
STEP 1: CLEANSE
Begin with Body Cleanser in the shower. It is the first step in preparing your skin for the rest of the routine.
Use it wherever your skin needs attention, including your neck, shoulders, arms, back, legs, and feet. The point is not perfection. The point is to begin noticing the skin you may have been rushing past.
STEP 2: POLISH AND TONE
Polish and Toner both live in Step 2, but you will not use them in exactly the same way every day.
On exfoliation days, use Body Polish after cleansing. Apply it with your hand or a mitt using gentle circular motions, then rinse. Body Polish may be used up to four times per week.
After rinsing, apply Body Toner to damp skin. On days when you do not polish, move directly from Cleanser to Toner.
This is the flexible step. Your routine can respond to your schedule while the order stays easy to remember.
STEP 3: MOISTURIZE
Choose Body Lotion or Body Butter based on the texture you prefer and what feels right for your routine.
Lotion offers a lighter moisturizing step. Butter offers a richer one. You do not need both to begin. Choose the texture you are most likely to enjoy using consistently.
Because the best routine is not the one with the most products. It is the one you will actually return to.
STEP 4: FINISH WITH OIL
Body Oil is the finishing step. Apply it after Lotion or Butter to complete the routine and leave skin feeling soft and smooth.
Think of it as the final period at the end of the sentence. Small, satisfying, and a signal that the routine is complete.
START SMALL OR START COMPLETE
If a four-step routine feels like too much right now, start with one dependable pair of steps: cleanse, then moisturize. Once that rhythm feels natural, add Toner, Polish, or Oil in the proper order.
The 5 Minute Body Reset is the smaller starting routine for building consistency, priced at $69, regularly $98. The Essentials Collection Trio Box is the full-size, three-step starting routine for the woman who is ready to begin with a complete foundation, priced at $99, regularly $117.
There is no prize for starting with the most. There is something better: the feeling of keeping a promise to yourself.
Ready to begin? Choose the starting routine that fits your life now, then let consistency do its quiet work.
